La Belle Classe Academy By Bluewater

Bluewater and Yacht Club de Monaco are delighted to announce the launch of La Belle Classe Academy by bluewater, a two-week summer school introducing 16- to 18-year-olds to the exciting world of yachting.

23 June 2017
To launch their exciting new partnership, bluewater and Yacht Club de Monaco are offering an exclusive opportunity for English-speaking teens to develop their knowledge and skills for the yachting industry. At the end of the fun-filled two-week programme, the students will hold seven recognised maritime qualifications.

Yachting in Action

La Belle Classe Academy by bluewater will take place from 31st July – 11th August 2017 at Yacht Club de Monaco. Monday – Friday, 08h30 – 17h30.

This power-packed summer school consists of three main parts:

STCW Basic Training

This entry-level course is made up of five modules: sea survival, first aid, personal safety, security and fire-fighting. Students will be taught essential safety information and will complete this course with the knowledge of how to respond appropriately in an emergency at sea or on land.

RYA Power Boat Level II

The RYA Power Boat Level II certificate is recognised by most European countries for the operation of small crafts and yacht tenders.

This three-day entry level course provides the skills needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence.

Students will learn how to drive safely while observing the rules of the sea, and for those wishing to pursue a career in yachting, this may set them apart from other candidates when applying for jobs onboard.

RYA Personal Watercraft

Jet Skis are fast and exciting, but need to be handled with care and, in most instances, this licence is required to operate a Jet Ski in Europe. The Personal Watercraft course is designed for first-time and experienced riders alike, and will teach students how to safely enjoy these popular water toys.
