$IKARON was built by the Dutch shipyard Holland Jachtbouw in 2000. Despite her 100’ length, she is very easy to handle with just two crew, or with the owner and a few friends. Her fuel capacity and storage tanks allow her to cross the Atlantic and her interior has been modified to accommodate up to 4 crew, to aid in longer voyages for ultimate relaxation.

Holland Jachtbouw pride themselves on paying meticulous attention to detail and ensure that every boat is finished to the highest caliber. This can be seen in IKARON, who has been beautifully maintained over the years.

IKARON can accommodate up to 8 guests in 3 cabins. Accommodation onboard is spacious and finished in beautiful blonde teakwood.

• Mast and rig pulled out of boat and all rigging removed for inspection

• All running rigging replaced

• Cabling, lights, and electronics checked, serviced or replaced

• Hydraulic furles serviced and rebuilt by Rondal

• Hydraulic halyard rams serviced

• Hydraulic aft stay tensioners serviced

• Hydraulic boom van serviced

• Mast & boom re-installed and tuned

• New Furuno radar and navigators installed

• New PC screens

• New cockpit resolution waterproof monitor

• New B&G processor and triton

• New Gyro-track compass installed

• All batteries serviced and or replaced

 

 

2022

• New electric motor

• Variable pitch gear box taken out, dismantled and serviced. All new

• Marine gearbox “Twin Disc” taken out and rebuild, new seals &

 bearings.

 

 

2023

• Under water Hull sand blasted, inspected

• Propeller, shaft, variable pitch system and gear box works:

• Variable pitch propeller “Teignbridge” dismantled and serviced

• Propeller shaft pulled out, taken to machine shop. Installed in lathe,

 checked for wear & torsion, cleaned. Was in perfect condition.

• Propeller shaft bearings serviced. oil and water seals, both engine

 room side and water side, all replaced.

• Propeller shaft oil bath oil replaced

• Propeller shaft aft “cutlass bearing” replaced

• Main engine rubber support blocks replaced (all 2 )

• Propeller shaft & main engine re-aligned. Boat sea trials showed

 perfect alignment.

• Rudder pulled out full service

• Rudder lower and upper bearings serviced

• Steering system & steering quadrant serviced

• New bearing Laghersmith

• Zink anodes new

• Brand new sails

• New tender Geniuss 320
