TAKING YOUR SAFETY TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL STARTS HERE Bluewater has partnered with Maritime Safety Solutions (MSS), who deliver onboard custom fire and safety assessment, consultancy, training and coaching for superyachts and commercial vessels. Maritime Safety Solutions’ training programmes are tailored to the specific risks, layout, needs, operations, equipment and crew of your vessel. Maritime Safety Solutions will ensure that: - your crew acquire skills beyond STCW requirements that will allow them to respond efficiently to any onboard emergency; - your vessel has state-of-the-art procedures that will ensure an effective management of emergencies. MSS Services include Fire Prevention, Safety Assessment, Customized Training, Emergency Procedures Design and COVID-19 Management. How it works STEP 1 - Preliminary video inspections and fire & safety assessment • Video inspection of ducts and other areas/systems prone to fire risk • Survey of vessel’s Fire Fighting/SAR/First Aid equipment • Review of ship’s documentation (procedures, training manual, etc.) • Review of inspections and assessment outcomes, and discussion about available options to mitigate risks and improve onboard safety. Where required, a large part of the inspections can be performed remotely, based on the ship’s documentation. STEP 2 - Boost your onboard safety • Additional, deeper assessment of potential risks on board, equipment stock and crew knowledge - full review of your emergency procedures • Your customized safety and training solutions are designed and delivered on board your vessel, including a number of drills based on new, enhanced emergency procedures These services can be delivered anytime, in any location, based on the yacht’s schedule. Based on the outcomes of the video inspections, you will be offered Fire Prevention cleaning, degreasing and sanitisation services as a separate package. STEP 3 - Consolidate results Subscribe to the multi-annual, customized training refresh services & systems fire prevention programmes. The MSS training programmes can include all or a selection of the following modules: Fire / Search & Rescure / First Aid We provide your crew with the knowledge and skills required to take adequate and efficient action in a fire situation involving search & rescue and medical operations, in compliance with the procedures of the vessel. Lithium Batteries Lithium-based batteries are more and more popular, but if something goes wrong, they require specific handling, extinguishment agents and fire fighting techniques. Our first step is to prevent them failing by implementing the proper prevention measures. Command & Control Enhance and polish the skills of your officers as required to ensure they can take adequate and efficient action in managing any sort of incident on-board in compliance with the procedures of the vessel. Yacht Specific Package Enhance your crew’s skills on specific emergency techniques and procedures as required by the routine operations of the ship. This package is tailored specifically to your vessel and its characteristics, e.g. it could include safety & fire management in helicopter on-board operations. You can either book a full onboard training programme, or get started with a preliminary assessment package. The remote Fire & Safety Preliminary Assessment or an onboard Preliminary Video Inspection and Fire & Safety Assessment package can be booked directly online. Included in both packages is a report including information about any possible weaknesses within your fire prevention and emergency organisation, as well as recommendations for mitigating risks on board. Booking either preliminary package doesn’t commit you to a full training programme. However, if you then decide to book a full training programme, the fee paid for the preliminary package will be deducted from the price. If you decide to go straight for a full onboard training programme, the Preliminary Video Inspection (in the regions where it is currently available) and the Fire & Safety Assessment are included. Training programmes would normally include from 1 to 3 days on board, based on vessel size and crew numbers. Please contact us for more information and for a quote.
