Ship’s Cook Assessment - Do You Have This?

Have you visited our Fort Lauderdale training academy with it’s state of the art facilities? It is a beautiful space for crew to hang out, receive guidance on their courses and careers, and meet with other crew taking courses.

In addition to the recent MCA Approval for the much demanded AEC 2 course, we have just received approval for the Ship’s Cook Assessment. So please pop by the facilities for a walk round, or to discuss your next steps to move your career forward.

Who can take this course?

Pre-requisites
1 year of sea service as a chef/cook
or 1 year of experience as a chef or cook on land and 1 month of sea service

Course Duration
3 days:
Day 1 is a review and written assessment
Day 2 is a practical assessment of savoury cooking skills
Day 3 is a practical assessment of bakery, pastry and dessert skills


Courses may be taken individually. Discounts for 4-day and 5-day packages.

Course dates

Our Ship’s Cook Assessment is recognized by the Cayman Islands Maritime Authority.

Ships’ cooks will be able to submit the course completion certificate, along with a recognition document from the Cayman Maritime Authority, to the MCA. Please call us to discuss further, we’d be happy to talk through the course and the details.

May 14 - Food Safety in Catering, Level 2
May 15 – 17 Ship’s Cook Assessment

June 3 - Food Safety in Catering, Level 2
June 4 - Ship’s Cook Assessment Preparation Course
June 5 – 7 Ship’s Cook Assessment

June 17 - Food Safety in Catering, Level 2
June 18 - Ship’s Cook Assessment Preparation Course
June 19 – 21 Ship’s Cook Assessment
