It’s the time of year where the cold December nights are closing in, coats have replaced T-shirts and for the lucky ones, thoughts are turning to joining their families for the festive break.

For anyone struggling to feel the Christmas spirit, the 5th annual bluewater Christmas carol concert was the perfect solution to sing in the festivities and raise money for The Antibes Lifeboat at the same time. The Antibes Lifeboat saves numerous lives at sea every year and we are delighted to announce that this year’s concert on December 2nd raised a record-breaking 2,700 euros.

This rare opportunity to experience the superb Riviera International Singers in full regalia marks the start of Christmas festivities for many of the Antibes community and allows expats and locals alike to come together with a mixture of international carols.

Merrymakers were welcomed outside Antibes Cathedral with a vat of vin chaud and home-baked cakes, before being ushered inside for a fully-attended concert by the choir who have been entertaining the Riviera with their voices for over 20 years.

The congregation also had several opportunities to stretch their vocal chords inside the high vaulted surroundings, with carols such as Once in Royal David’s City and O Come All Ye Faithfull, before being treated to yet more vin chaud and English sausages by SoSij after the festivities were over.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed towards the concert this year and we look forward to seeing you again next Christmas! For a sneak peak into the concert see below but please ignore the shaky camera work!
