Designed for the individual seeking to start their maritime deck career, this course provides both classroom and practical instruction in the areas of general nautical terminology, watchstanding, vessel steering, safety and security, shipboard maintenance, marlinspike seamanship, anchoring and daily operations required for a deckhand.
It is strongly recommended that students wishing to secure employment as a deckhand will complete STCW Basic Safety Training and Powerboat Level II instruction.
The course uses both practical training tools as well as classroom lessons and saves significantly over the cost for doing the modules individually. Further savings are available when combined with the STCW Basic Safety Training Course.
