New to the yachting industry and not sure which qualifications you need, what the different roles involve, or how to approach yachts for daywork?
This forum is designed to give you the essential guidance every new crew member needs.
For the first time we will be hosting two forums, one in Antibes and one in Palma, same day, same times, same insightful advice, and both will deliver real‑life experiences, and offer practical advice to help you take your first steps with confidence.
Which event will you choose?
Hosted by the PYA and MLC‑compliant recruitment agents alongside Bluewater, this forum brings together local training specialists who will share insights into interior roles, engineer training, and the full deck‑to‑captain route.
You’ll also meet current and former yacht crew who will share their real experiences and answer your questions throughout the session.
By the end of the day, you’ll have a clear understanding of what to expect once you secure your first role onboard; from daily duties and professional standards to the realities of life as part of a crew.
It’s an invaluable opportunity to learn, connect, and prepare for your yachting career.
Each recruitment agent and the PYA is sending out invitations for this event.
Now in its third edition in Antibes, it has become one of the most popular gatherings for new crew starting their yachting journey.
Make sure you reserve your spot before registration closes.
If your situation changes and you’re no longer able to attend, we kindly ask that you let us know so we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list.
If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch - we’re here to help, and we look forward to welcoming you.
Simply check your crew profile on the free Bluewater app.
Under Events, you’ll find the listings for both Palma and Antibes, and some other events too!
