Aglaia Dock Party 2014

After the roaring success of last year’s April Dock Party and the Christmas Bash, Capt Mark Stevens and the crew of Aglaia are yet again hosting what is sure to be the dock party of the season at STP shipyard in Palma.

It is great to see a Captain and his crew get so involved in raising money for the islands charities, and even better if they can combine it with food, drink and fancy dress!

Last year’s Easter Bunnies served up 500 burgers and sausages with salads and raised over €10000 for local charities as well as plenty of toys and clothes donated to less fortunate children on the island. This year the theme will be Hawaiian and feel free to dress up and get involved!
The charities sponsored this year will again be the local charity Mediterranea, run by the indomitable Dr. Stoma and his team who provide aid to children and their families in need at home and abroad. The main problem which is currently causing Dr Stoma sleepless nights is the lack of milk getting to the island’s children so the milk-at-school project is of utmost importance. For this reason the “entrance fee” is an item of kids clothing and as much long life milk as you can spare.

The second charity Asociación Ondine another local project run by Brad Robertson and his passionate team of professionals combining science, local communities and conservation to protect and improve local marine ecosystems around the beautiful Balearic Islands.

This year the grill is replaced by a Hog Roast sponsored by Bluewater and we have been promised a top DJ, mixologists and limbo, so I am sure fun will be had by all!
