Monaco Yacht Show: Where Yachts & Private Jets Meet

With the Monaco Yacht Show just around the corner, PrivateFly’s co-founder Carol Cork looks at the relationship between private jets and superyachts.

25 September 2018
A private jet and a superyacht have much in common. For the minority that choose to own either one outright, they are the ultimate status symbols of wealth and luxury, giving travel privacy and flexibility on an unparalleled level.

But for a wider group, on-demand charter is a more viable option, and gives clients a wide choice of charter jets or yachts, suitable for their trip and budget.

Private jet and helicopter charter also works very efficiently in partnership with a yacht charter, transporting customers to and from their yacht in the fastest and most direct way.
Many yacht charter clients look to sail from remote islands and coastlines - which can be difficult to reach using airline flights. With private air travel, you can fly nonstop to smaller airfields; pick your own departure times; and make the final approach via helicopter – some larger yachts even have helipads that allow a helicopter to land on the deck.

Superyacht owners and charterers from around the world also use private jet travel to fly in and out of the top industry events. The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) this week is the highest-profile in Europe and an opportunity for the top yacht brokers and shipyards to showcase the latest trends to the people that matter. Bluewater will have a team of sales specialists at the show to arrange VIP visits onto the various yachts. Should you wish to arrange a tour please contact the team on brokerage@bluewateryachting.com
Many of our clients travelling to the Monaco Yacht Show (or to Monaco at other times of year) take a private jet to Cannes or Nice, followed by a private helicopter transfer to Monaco.

Nice Cote d’Azur Airport’s runway can handle private jets of all sizes – including transatlantic flights in long range jets or VIP converted airliners. Cannes Mandelieu Airport is smaller and more exclusive – appealing to VIPs and celebrities, as well as those looking to travel to Cannes.

Cannes and Nice are always popular private jet airports, especially during the summer months. But they continue to be very busy in September, thanks to MYS.
