The RYA Powerboat Level 2 is a two-day practical course designed to provide the skills and background knowledge needed by a competent powerboat driver. It is ideal for aspiring and existing yacht crew who may be required to operate yacht tenders, as well as recreational boaters looking to develop safe and confident powerboat-handling skills. No previous powerboating experience is required.

Our course is conducted in coastal waters using a planing craft, and the certificate issued will be endorsed accordingly.

The RYA Powerboat Level 2 is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC). For those intending to use the qualification professionally, the certificate may also be commercially endorsed, subject to meeting the RYA’s commercial endorsement requirements.
