Captain Tim began his life growing up in Southern New England, hanging around the boatyards of Fairhaven and New Bedford, Massachusetts. In his mid-teens, he ventured out as a commercial fisherman in Rhode Island and in 1978, at the age of 19, he attained a basic scuba certification and formed a small diving service company, primarily doing yacht maintenance, propeller changes and inspections. At the same time, Capt. Tim also worked part-time for a commercial diving/salvage company and that’s where he found his passion. In 1983, Captain Tim attended and received his commercial diving certificate as a diver/welder from The Ocean Corporation in Houston Texas. With that certification in hand, Captain Tim expanded his diving company, employing 14 divers and support personnel, in all aspects of commercial operations, including cable and pipeline installation/inspection, bridge construction/inspection, heavy marine salvage, underwater welding and demolition, Capt. Tim has been involved with construction and salvage projects from Maine to South America and in 1990 acquired Sea Tow Newport to further support his diving company’s operations.

In 1995 Capt. Tim continued to expand his operations and purchased Sea Tow Fort Lauderdale. In just two short years, under his guidance, Sea Tow Ft. Lauderdale was propelled to the top Sea Tow franchise in the nation. During the span of Capt. Tim’s career, he has logged over 15,000 hours underwater and has been involved in thousands of salvages, ranging from small recreational yachts to large commercial ships. Capt Tim attained certifications/licenses as a USCG 100 ton Master, USCG OUPV License, HAZMAT Certification Level D, PADI Medic First Aid, PADI Rescue Diver, PADI Deep Diver/Specialty Diver, PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, the Ocean Corporation Commercial Hard Hat Diver and the Ocean Corporation Commercial Underwater Welding and Burning Certification. Capt. Tim has also received lifesaving commendations from the Commander of the Seventh District of the United States Coast Guard and numerous life-saving awards from Sea Tow Services International. In 2016, Captain Tim sold his businesses and is now semi-retired.

He uses his time teaching in the marine industry, as a consultant and expert witness on maritime legal cases and is occasionally called in to assist in maritime disasters. Captain Tim currently resides in Pompano Beach Florida, with his beautiful wife, Lisa, of twenty years and enjoys traveling in his 45 foot RV, boating, recreational diving and spending time with his five dogs.
