After completing a degree in Latin and Ancient Greek and a little travelling, corporate UK career options loomed and were terrifying so Sophie did whatever any sensible girl would do and ran away to sea!

Four years at sea was enough, but when it came time to move back to land, the UK seemed a little cold and grey. Mallorca seemed to be a much more attractive proposition and Sophie made the move to the island and joined Bluewater in 2007.

She set up the crew placement department in Palma and worked as a crew agent for a few years before moving to the training department, working for a decade as Training Manager.

When it was time for a change, having accumulated such a broad knowledge of crew and their qualifications, Yacht Management was an obvious choice for her next step. She is now a Yacht Manager for Bluewater in Palma, specialising in Finances and Crew Employment.
