Crystal continued to play sports after shipping out and has played professional roller derby and competitive slow pitch softball since 2007. She was a volunteer fire fighter for the State of New Jersey and passed her EMT for the State of New York as well. Crystal went to college at The State University of Maritime College and has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a minor in Humanities. Crystal is currently pursuing her Master’s in Education from the Grand Canyon University in hopes to gain her PHD in the near future.

Crystal is a licensed Chief Engineer in Steam, Gas and Diesel Engines. She sailed for Pacific Gulf Marine, Tyco, Maersk and many other AMO-Diesel and Steam vessels, ended her shipping career in 2007 on The New Jersey Responder, which aids in cleaning up oil spills. The past ten years Crystal has been an ABS classification surveyor throughout Florida and the Caribbean and now she is a Flag Surveyor on behalf of Vanuatu and Tuvalu.

Crystal is a sucker for show tunes, acapella music, the Theater and musicals. She loves country music, line dancing and camping. The favorite part of her day is coming home to her son Caysea (notice the nautical reference in his name), who has grey and green eyes, very curly blond hair and is the tallest kid in his grade.
