Slowly coming out of lockdown

The MCA has been keeping their website up to date and we ask that you check all the latest details to ensure your certificates are still valid, as well as the latest news on the COVID-19 situation for seafarers.

Our training schools in Antibes, Fort Lauderdale and Palma are fully open and operational, welcoming crew to complete their training and refresh their STCW certificates.

How to apply for a UK Certificate of Competency:
Information on how to gain a UK CoC for Deck and Engineering Officers working on board merchant vessels and yachts.

MIN 611 Amendment 2:
For a UK CoC holder, the MCA can provide an exemption for those officers who are onboard a vessel and their safety training has expired.

MIN 620 Amendment 1:
Expires 20 November 2021, Update on Online Oral Exams and the Future Issue of Notice of Eligibilities During the COVID-19 Lockdown
Period (expires November 2021).
The MCA are starting to process NoEs and orals have been taking place in the Zoom/Teams format.

MIN 632 Amendment 2:
COVID-19 Extension of seafarer employment agreements, discussing repatriation and extension of SEAs. This notice expired 30th April 2021 so ensure you are still in date with your extensions.
