The course tackles a wide range of vital galley elements in a 5 day action packed week. Our industry experienced chef instructor works with students at each individual's level, making sure that they are much more prepared to embark upon a career onboard as a sous chef, crew cook or small yacht cook.
The practical course covers various crucial lessons on knife skills, other tools and equipment commonly used in the culinary arts; it also touches on storage, hygiene and the day to day running of the galley to help save crucial time while not cutting corners.
Covering Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, students have the opportunity to learn about a range of cultural & dietary requirements all while preparing a range of popular recipes from around the world. This is an intense week long course the syllabus has been created to cover everything from seafood, meat, pastry and salads to fine desserts.
Students will work with real charter preference sheets to prepare them for the reality of cooking onboard with specific restrictions & requirements.
