What Is Your Preferred Caribbean Destination?

The Caribbean is an enormous yachting playground, where luxury yachts float between the jungle-covered peaks of sunken volcanoes and past deserted coral atolls with blinding white sands and palm trees bending down over turquoise water. With staggering natural beauty supported by sophisticated marinas, exclusive spa resorts and boutique shopping, the Caribbean offers everything for the luxury yacht charter guest.

With over 7000 thousand islands, it can be hard to decide where to begin your Caribbean luxury yachting adventure. Luckily, in an area of such magnificent beauty, it is near-impossible to go wrong.

Here are some of the bluewater favourites:

Antigua

Enjoy Antigua’s crystal clear blue water and miles of pristine white sand, or explore 18th century dockyards and relive naval history. Crumbling British forts sit on rolling green hills, their black iron cannons facing out over bays where powerful navies once jostled for global supremacy and marauding pirate ships hid in secret nests.

Anchor at the charming English Harbour, where there is a cluster of colonial architecture in white-painted customs houses and historic hotels with open verandas and slowly spinning fans. This is one of the most beautiful ports in the Caribbean where you can watch the crimson sunset whilst the crew of your yacht charter prepare a delicious feast.

St Barts

If you are after something with a little more privacy then head to St Barts, probably the Caribbean’s most exclusive island, for the chic designer boutiques and world-class restaurants. Anchor at Gustavia Port and enjoy a day of water sports or wreck-diving. If you prefer a sun-soaked afternoon then head to the secluded Saline Beach, one of St Barts’ most beautiful stretches of sand and sea.

Anguilla

Located close to the islands of St Maarten and St Barts, Anguilla could not be more different than its cosmopolitan and well-developed neighbours. The locals have maintained this pristine paradise which attracts a high end clientele and luxury yachts thanks to its indulgent retreats and low rise elegant resorts. Enjoy a day’s water sports in the sparkling turquoise waters.

St Maarten

Christopher Columbus sighted St Maarten in 1493, before the French and Dutch divided the island amongst themselves, making it the smallest landmass in the world shared by two independent countries. Drop anchor and appreciate some of the most unspoiled reefs in the world before enjoying the island’s exuberant nightlife until the sun comes up, then return to your yacht in time for a fresh breakfast onboard.

British Virgin Islands

Rich in pirate folklore and made up of more than 60 islands and islets, the BVIs are the most popular cruising destination in the Caribbean. White sand beaches fringed with towering palm trees and picturesque ramshackle beach bars are scattered all over the island. Other islands remain uninhabited and are just waiting to be explored. Enjoy a day snorkelling in the tranquil turquoise waters with the tropical fish, reefs and wrecks.

The Grenadines

For something a little more thrilling why not charter a luxury sailing yacht and head to The Grenadines. Enjoy this sailing paradise and visit the exotic Islands which make up the archipelago. Make sure to visit Mustique and the beautiful, sunny beaches of Tobago Cays where you can also enjoy an incredible experience of swimming with the sea turtles.

Cuba

The largest country in the Caribbean has started to relax its rules for gaining entry, meaning this island could soon become a hot destination for a greater number of people. Book a berth in Cienfuegos, one of the largest and most prosperous cities, to enjoy some Cuban culture and send a postcard to your friends back home making them green with envy. You’ll love Cuba’s spotless white sandy beaches, coconut palm trees and fascinating underwater world.
