The Charm Of A New England Yacht Charter

A New England yacht charter offers a stunning mix of beautiful coastal scenery, historic charm, and cosmopolitan cities in one of the great cruising grounds of the world.

On a New England yacht charter you will discover the iconic New England landscape of sand dunes and lighthouses, deep green forests edging tranquil bays, and church steeples rising above rolling fields. Grand summer homes overlook soft-sand beaches, weathered shingle shacks serve up seafood chowder, and superyachts cluster in the pretty harbours of fishing villages and beneath the skyscrapers of mighty East Coast cities.

In Newport, grand clifftop mansions tell the story of America’s rise, with the palatial homes of the Vanderbilts and the Astors keeping their stately watch over the Pacific. Down by the port, yachting bars and fine restaurants line the docks, sailboats race across the bay and the Newport Jazz Festival lights up the summer nights.
Nearby, the peaceful sandy shores and grassy hills of Block Island beg to be explored, while charming Nantucket offers fashionable art galleries and maritime museums celebrating the island’s whaling past. The next stop on your New England charter might be exclusive Martha’s Vineyard, where affluent summer homes sit between rolling dunes and picturesque apple orchards. Then it’s onwards to Cape Cod, famous for its superb beaches and relaxing summer holiday feel.

The Elizabeth Islands are another popular destination, with beautiful swimming and kayaking spots dotted around the islands, and colonial Cuttyhunk lending a sense of having travelled back in time. Some can’t resist the bright lights, theatres, and stadiums of Boston, where America’s history played out on the docks and great universities rose to global dominance.
Many yacht charters also include the ultra-fashionable Hamptons in their New England charter itinerary, enjoying the glamorous ambience of Sag Harbour, the designer boutiques of East Hampton, and the beautiful old stone and shingle buildings nestled among the lush green trees.

Your yacht might venture further north to Maine, where the ruggedly beautiful coastline gives way to thick forest that stretches all the way to Canada. In Maine your yacht will float through quiet bays dotted with lobster pots, and past fishing villages with cosy bars and cobbled streets lit by the yellow glow of gas lamps.
New England has an exceptional event programme, including the Bar Harbor Music Festival in Maine, Newport’s Hall of Fame Tennis Championships, the Boston Harbourfest, the Maine Lobster Festival, and the Annual Newport Mansions Food and Wine Festival. There’s also an action-packed sailing scene with regattas throughout the summer.
While July and August are peak charter months due to the glamorous summer social scene and fine weather, New England also proves an excellent charter destination in the shoulder seasons. The New England fall is particularly magnificent, with the maple trees transforming the land into a riot of colour, the roadside stalls heaving with pumpkins, and harvest festivals offering their autumn bounty of apples, cider, and hayrides.

Whether you’re savouring the sleepy charm of Maine, hearing the roar of the Boston crowd at Fenway Park, browsing the designer boutiques of Nantucket, or having a luxury beach picnic in Cape Cod, New England is a superb yacht charter destination.
