This management level course aims to review the subject of sea survival from the perspective of the MCA and international requirements. There is much emphasis on the organisation required for a sucessful abondonment before and during an incident, the role of the muster list and the need for thorough and imaginative crew training.
Formal MCA requirements are examined, in areas such as equipment standards, documentation, onboard organisation and manoverboard recovery. The course involves a practical drill at sea along with a theory session and is marked through continuous assessment.
Pre-requisites:
You must hold a basic Sea Survival certificate before attending this couse.
