This course covers the syllabus required by the STCW Code 1995 Table AVI/1-1 and is not a yacht restricted certificate.
It describes what you can do to ensure your survival in the event that you have to abandon ship at sea and what preparations you should make
The course includes a two hour pool drill where the correct use of an inflatable life raft is practised, including boarding and capsize drills.
Students should be physically fit. Any back or cardiac conditions should be drawn to attention of the instructor. It may be possible to continue the course with an endorsement on the certificate if part of the pool drill cannot be completed
