This course covers the syllabus required by the STCW Code 1995 Table AVI/1-3 and is not a yacht restricted certificate.
It describes what to do if you encounter medical emergencies such as burns and scalds, bleeding, shock, and broken bones. Students learn bandaging methods and how to move and position a patient, and also how to improvise materials to help with this.
There is a very important practical element to the course where students are required to correctly carry out resuscitation on a manikin.
