MCA Code Compliance

Soon to be the worldwide standard for commercial charter yachts, the code enables the vessel to run in-line with legal regulations. The code covers all aspects from construction, stability, crew and equipment held on board. Our renowned crew training department will ensure that all crew are trained to comply with these regulations that will be an essential requirement to crew members being employed.

International Safety Management

There is an international requirement for commercial yachts over 500 GT to comply with 'The International Safety Management Code'. These vessels require full Safety Management Certification.
The revised Large Yacht Code (LY2) stipulates that vessels under 500 GT must adhere to the general principles of ISM for a Safety Management System.
All vessels, regardless of size, which employ crew must provide a safe working environment for their employees and therefore are obliged to operate a safety management system.

The International Ship and Port facility Security Code

The ISPS Code applies to commercial yachts over 500 GT, however, the principles are relevant to all yachts and voluntary certification is available and encouraged.
The yacht requires a Ship Security Assessment and a Ship Security Plan, which has been approved by the Administration, and must be carried on board the vessel at all times.

Large Yacht Code Compliance

All British vessels that are operated commercially (CHARTER) must comply with the Large Yacht Code. The code covers the construction, life saving appliances, fire protection, stability, navigation, safety, security, machinery etc.

Operations & logistical support

MAIL BOX: Regardless of the yacht’s actual position, it retains a single mailing address. All mail, parcels, spares, shipments etc can then be forwarded on.

SPARES SERVICE: Co-ordinating and centralising the sourcing, payment and reception of all spares.

PAYMENT OF INVOICES: Deposits on orders and supplier’s invoices can be paid from the office regardless of the yacht’s position. Yachts on busy schedules can leave port knowing that all invoices will be taken care of.

PROVISIONING AND ORDERING: For a busy yacht, it is essential that the most is made of turnarounds. Provisions, deliveries and contractors can be waiting on the dock as the yacht enters port.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS: A yacht’s schedule can involve a great deal of travel arrangements for guests & crew. This schedule can change at the last minute for numerous reasons resulting in a significant increase in workload for the captain. Our shore support team can assist the captain with making changes to guest and crew travel requirements.

RESERVATIONS: Berths, restaurants, nightclubs, taxis & helicopters are just a selection of the bookings our team can deal with.

LIASON: Representation of the owner and the yacht and liason with charterers, brokers, charter agents, port agents and shipyards.

24 HOUR SHORE SUPPORT: In any situation of need, communication is of the utmost importance. A number based ashore that can be reached at any time by the captain or by someone ashore trying to contact the yacht.

Maintenance, refit & project support

The basis of any well-maintained yacht is a Maintenance Plan. We can help establish, monitor and audit the plan, ensuring that equipment is maintained according to manufacturer’s guidelines and that required maintenance is undertaken on schedule. This will help maintain the value of the yacht and significantly reduce the chance of breakdowns.
For larger and more complex projects, dealing with shipyards and contractors requires careful planning and supervision, from the compilation of the work-list through to final acceptance of the work.

Working closely with the Captain, the Chief Engineer and the Technical Consultant we can help and advise and act as the Owner’s representative on the production of the work-list, comparison of quotes, choice of shipyard and contractors, control of stage payments and change orders with the aim of ensuring that the work is of the very best quality and that the project is completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget.
