The Entry Programme provides new and junior crew with the essential skills to establish themselves as part of a successful and efficient interior team. Students completing this course will receive the GUEST PYA certificates for: Interior Introduction, Interior Basic Food Service and Wine, Bartending & Mixology Introduction. Interior Introduction This course outlines all of the major responsibilities that a steward/ess will be expected to face and will also cover a range of important issues from life at sea, to yacht etiquette and safety. Designed to immerse new crew into the world of yachting this module explores the varied role of an interior crew member. Basic Food Service This module covers a range of different service types to yacht industry standards. On board, you will be expected to respond to the style required by each client: be it plated, silver or platter. Fundamental differences between the various service types will be highlighted and a practical overview of beverage service and table decoration will be demonstrated. Wine, Bartending & Mixology Introduction Students will develop a basic understanding of food and wine matching, wine regions and grapes of the world, the main spirits and cocktail preparation. Interior yacht crew are expected to be ready to serve and suggest the right wine or beverage to compliment meals and prepare the client’s choice of cocktail on demand. This all encompassing 5 day course will prepare any new crew member for a large part of life onboard. Bluewater Antibes - This course is provided in association with the Interior Training Academy. Bluewater Fort Lauderdale - Offer a similar course called YIS (Yacht Interior Service).
