Following the launch of the guest training syllabus - introduced to the industry by the PYA in 2011- bluewater training school has spent the past 6 months developing the interior course programme to suit the new framework and help interior crew gain the necessary qualifications in line with their roles onboard.

Rotational Engineer for a Mediterranean Based 43m Classic Motor Yacht

We are seeking an Engineer to deputise for the Chief Engineer on a rotational basis. The rotation will be flexible rather than fixed and therefore the applicant must be flexible depending upon operational requirements. However the rotation will equate to approximately 6 months per year. Reporting to the Captain and under instruction from the Chief Engineer the successful candidate will be responsible primarily for the maintenance and operation of yacht main engines, generators, all auxiliaries and systems. In addition supervising and working alongside the 2nd Engineer This is very much a �hands-on' role working with engines, machinery and systems that require constant attention and maintenance. The candidate must therefore have a background in the maintenance, repair and operation of marine diesel propulsion engines. The ideal candidate would have completed an indentured apprenticeship as a diesel Fitter (or formal training such as NVQ in diesel machinery) and have experience of working with both modern and older marine diesel machinery. Formal Yacht engineer qualifications are not essential for this position. The position therefore provides an ideal opportunity for a conscientious, hardworking engineer with the right background to gain entry into the yacht industry. Following a probationary period, training and assistance in gaining formal Yacht Engineer qualifications will be provided to employees who display the right attitude and aptitude. Salary range US$5000 to $6500 Per Month (tax free) paid for time worked - negotiable depending upon experience and qualifications. Air fares paid to and from deployments.
