Pinmar 2013 - 25th Anniversary
Bluewater has had a golf team in Pinmar
since 1992 and we have been the proud sponsor of events for over 5 years. This year Bluewater is sponsoring breakfast for the golfers every morning for the duration of the tournament. We have a golf team representing and we are sponsoring Cogs For Cancer
where 8 riders will cycle over 800km from Antibes to Palma raising funds for Cancer Research UK.
This is an extra special tournament as it is 25th year anniversary of Pinmar! Running from the 9-12th of October 2013, teams of four will play ’shotgun’ rounds on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The tournament takes place at the stunning Son Gual course which offers a golfing challenge like no other, in a private and intimate environment with beautiful surroundings. The Pinmar’s setting is just breath taking. It’s lovely Mediterranean feel and the sun shining over the hills makes it a great event that we are proud to be part of.
Friday evening there is the exclusive 25th Anniversary VIP Friday Party, at Tristan’s Puerto Portals, an invitation-only event and an opportunity to meet many leading figures in the superyacht industry. We look forward to returning to this stunning location where Pinmars most important guests can enjoy fantastic panoramic views of Puerto Portals alongside exquisite food and fine entertainment.
On the Saturday night there is The Anniversary Ball at Son Termens, a beautiful old Mallorquin finca, which has a 1500 seated dining room. The ball will include Pre-Dinner Aperitifs and Canapés, the prize-giving Dinner and a spectacular show and after-party.
This is one of the largest amateur golf tournaments in Europe. Such is the popularity of the event,teams had to be turned away, as all slots for the competition were filled weeks before it had even began! This is one of the reasons why sponsors are falling over themselves to get involved and they now have a record breaking number of over 100 sponsors this year. These companies are from all sectors of the superyacht industry, and include many of the leading shipyards, yacht brokers, insurance brokers and management companies as well as refit, repair, service and supply companies. The tournament is also made possible by the efforts of a wonderful team of over 100 volunteers, and organisers, and has raised over €60,000 in the past for local children´s charities.
Having attended this event for many years, our team always looks forward to joining in on the event, raising money for charity, the fabulous hospitality, participating in a great competition, seeing familiar and friendly faces (some of which have taken part for the last 25 years!) and contributing to an excellent cause!
