What does this mean?

The UK Chamber of Shipping, is the Chamber of Commerce representing ship owners and managers in the city of London, the world’s foremost shipping capital. The Chamber was formed in 1878 to unify all of the regional trade associations into one national body. It is recognised by Government, the EU and other international organisations as the focal point for consultation with the UK shipping industry on relevant policy and regulation. We are very proud to be the first yachting company to be accepted into the Chamber of Shipping.

The Chamber of Shipping works closely with Government, Parliament, policy makers and other parties to:

• gain recognition of shipping’s contribution to the UK economy and employment
• make clear the impact of upcoming and existing legislation on the future of shipping in the UK
• bring them together to work with the UK shipping industry and the related national, European and international maritime organisations.

The superyacht industry is increasingly recognised as a fully-fledged part of the British merchant marine fleet, it is more important than ever that our industry has a voice at the highest level of policy making in the UK and in Europe. We are not alone in our endeavour, the Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association (MYBA), have been accepted onto the UK Maritime skills alliance, a UK body hosted by the Chamber of Shipping which creates qualifications for seafarers.
